Brit Awards 2013

So the Brit Awards is back on our screens on 20th February on ITV1.

There have been a lot of rumours circling as to who will be hosting the awards ceremony this year, but despite the rumours it has been confirmed that James Corden will be in charge for the evening - what could possibly go wrong?

The categories this year are all strong, with no clear winner in my opinion.

British Male Solo Artist:
- Olly Murs
- Calvin Harris
- Ben Howard
- Richard Hawley
- Plan B

Personally I'd opt to vote for Olly Murs or Calvin Harris, simply because they have shared amazing music with the world this past year, and I'm certain that they will continue to release new crowd-pleasing singles in the up coming year.

British Breakthrough Act:
- Jake Bugg
- Ben Howard
- Rita Ora
- Jessie Ware
- alt-J

Now I'm sure that most people would want Jake Bugg to win because apparently he's brilliant, even though I have no idea who he is and have never heard any of his songs - so I would go for the obvious Rita Ora just because she seems like she has the potential to be the next big superstar.

British Female Solo Artist:
- Amy Winehouse
- Emeli Sande
- Paloma Faith
- Jessie Ware
- Bat for Lashes

I'm not totally impressed at how Amy Winehouse has been placed in this category just because she recently returned to the charts following her tragic death - but Emeli Sande is the clear winner, as she has been an incredible all-round artist this past year & every single has managed to get into the Top 10.

British Group:
- alt-J
- Mumford & Sons
- Muse
- One Direction
- The XX

It's a bit obvious that millions and millions of girls are going to vote for their 'one true love' One Direction, because they're all so amazing and talented (not to mention they plan on having a romance with at least 1 member before they die, probs be Harry) - and fair enough One Direction are extremely talented, but I think Mumford & Sons are equally amazing, so deserve this Brit Award.

British Live Act:
- Coldplay
- Mumford & Sons
- The Vaccines
- Muse
- Rolling Stones

Coldplay deserve this award, that is all.

International Female Solo Artist:
- Alicia Keys
- Taylor Swift
- Rihanna
- Cat Power
- Lana Del Ray

I can't imagine that Alicia Keys will win, but then again I can't stand how she feels the need to take her huge piano every where with her..
I'd have to go for Taylor Swift, just because it'd be so funny to see Harry Style's face when she wins & because all the songs on her new album are so annoyingly good.

International Group:
- Alabama Shakes
- The Killers
- The Black Keys
- Fun.
- The Script

Hopefully The Script will win this 2013 Brit Award, as all their albums have been amazing and they just deserve to finally be recognised as one of the big contenders.

British Producer Of The Year:
- Damon Albarn
- Paul Epworth
- Jake Gosling

Out of the three, I'd rather Paul Epworth won because I've heard more of his work and believe that he deserves it.

Mastercard British Album of the Year:
- Emeli Sande
- Mumford & Sons
- alt-J
- Paloma Faith
- Plan B

The only choice for me would be Mumford & Sons, I own their newest album and it is one of the best albums that I have ever heard - will be really disappointed if they don't win, but if they only loose to Emeli Sande then fair enough.

International Male Solo Artist:
- Bruce Springsteen
- Gotye
- Jack White
- Frank Ocean
- Michael Buble

I've loved Michael Buble since he released his first album, and hearing him sing songs like 'Fever' and 'Feeling Good', you can't help but get goosebumps! But I think the winner is going to probably be Frank Ocean as he's become more popular this year.

British Single:
- Adele - Skyfall
- Alex Clare - Too Close
- Coldplay & Rihanna - Princess of China
- DJ Fresh ft. Rita Ora - Hot Right Now
- Emeli Sande - Next To Me
- Florence and the Machine - Spectrum
- James Arthur - Impossible
- Labrinth ft. Emeli Sande - Beneath You're Beautiful
- Jessie J - Domino
- Olly Murs ft. Flo Rida - Troublemaker
- Rita Ora ft. Tinie Tempah - R.I.P
- Rizzle Kicks - Mama Do The Hump
- Robbie Williams - Candy
- Rudimental ft. John Newman - Feel The Love
- Stooshe - Black Heart

Can't even think of where to start on this category, so many artist who have the potential to win - but seeing as it's up to the viewers, just have to see what happens on the night!

Don't forget to vote for your favourite - voting opens on 9th Feb!
